Ibn Jubair said, do not turn off your light in the first ten days on Dhul Hijjah, meaning pray qiyam and extra prayers. Imam Ahmad reported that Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said the prophet (peace be upon him) said there are no days so great in the eyes of Allah than the ten days of Dhul Hijjah, increase your Tahleel (La ilaha illAllah), Takbir (Allahu akbar), Tahmeed (Alhamdulillah).

Ruling regarding Udhia (Sacrifice/kurbani)
Allah (swt) says in the Surat Kawthar, Ayah 2
“Therefore to thy Lord turn in Prayer and Sacrifice.
Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) said we should slaughter after the time of prayer. The sheep should be sacrificed by the breadwinner of the household on the behalf of his family. It is considered wajib in the Hanafi madhab and in the opinion of Imam Ahmad, Imam Awzai and Imam Laith. People who live in the same household should have one udhia (sacrifice). If more than one is working they can share in paying for it but still only one udhia is done.
