Japan Islamic Trust (JIT), with the collaboration of Arabic Islamic Institute, Tokyo is going to hold its 17th All Japan Annual Quran Recitation Competition at the institute`s premises in Tokyo on December 30-31. The event hopes to attract more than 300 contestants from all parts of Japan who plan to recite few verses of the Quran in the competition. The competition is sponsored by the Muslim World League, Holy Quran Memorization International Organization Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The details of the event are as follows.
Fri, 30th December and Sat, 31st December
Arabic Islamic Institute, Hiroo, Tokyo ( 3-4-18 Moto-Azabu Minato-ku, Tokyo )
10 min walk from Hiroo station of Hibiya line
10 min walk from Azabu ju-ban station of Toei Oedo line and Nanboku Line

The contest will consist of 7 categories based on the levels of memorization of the Holy Quran which are as follows
Level 1: memorized more than 1 Surah (not a competition, presentation only)
Level 2: memorized more than half Juz
Level 3: memorized more than one Juz
Level 4: memorized more than two Juz
Level 5: memorized more than five Juz
Level 6: memorized the complete Holy Quran Karim
Adult (more than 17 years old) : who has learned tajweed and is able to read the Quran correctly
Fri, 30th December: level 1 and Adult
Sat, 31st December: level 2- level 6
Prizes will be distributed to the winners of each level mentioned above. The first prize of an Umrah ticket will be awarded to the winners of level 6-7.
The annual Quran competition provides an opportunity to the Muslim youth in Japan to memorize the Quran and thus keep in touch with their beloved religion in this secular society.
